How we handle the personal information you share with us.
This policy explains what personal information RM Photography & Comms collects through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
It is written to reflect the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 of the United Republic of Tanzania.
RM Photography & Comms is a photography, videography and brand communication practice based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, working with organizations across the country.

When you complete the contact form or the project enquiry form, we collect the information you enter. Depending on the form, that may include your name, organization, email address, phone number, project type, project location and the message you write.
We use it only to respond to your enquiry and to discuss work you are asking us about. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a mailing list without asking.
Form submissions are emailed to us and are also stored in this website's database so that we do not lose an enquiry if an email fails to arrive.
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site, so that we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and records information such as the pages you view, roughly how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
This information is processed by Google and may be stored on servers outside Tanzania. We use it in aggregate to see which pages are useful. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.
We also use Google Search Console, which reports on the search terms that lead people to this site. It does not identify individuals.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses them in two ways.
Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics, as described above. They are not required for the site to work.
Essential cookies are set only if you log in to administer the website. Ordinary visitors are not given these.

Our work involves photographing people at events, in workplaces and in communities. Images published on this website and in our portfolio are used with the permission of the organizations that commissioned the work, and where the context requires it, with the consent of the people photographed.
If you appear in a photograph on this website and would like it removed, contact us and we will remove it.
We share personal information only where it is necessary to run this website or to reply to you:
— Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its database.
— Our email provider, which delivers enquiry notifications to us.
— Google, for the analytics described above.
We do not sell personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.
Enquiries are kept for as long as we may reasonably need them for the working relationship they relate to, and are deleted when they are no longer needed. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.
Under the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to ask us to delete it, and to object to how we are using it.
To make any of these requests, email business@rmcommunications.co.tz. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission of Tanzania.
This website is served over an encrypted connection, and access to the website administration and to stored enquiries is limited to authorised people. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us.
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date below.
